Facial Mister

The key to this project is both the sprayer in your mister (you want a microfine mister is you are going to use it on your face).

So, if you find for instance 2 oz sprayers. This will make 4.

As a base you can use floral waters (also called hydrosols) which are readily available products. They come from the process of making essential oils. During the process of making essential oils (most of them) they use steam to get the plants to release their scent. The "floral water" is the left over scent infused distilled water.

Floral water:

2 oz scented floral water of choice (rose, cucumber, citrus are all lovely)

6 oz distilled water.

Just combine and top off mister. Rose and cucumber can be used on your face. Citrus can create redness in sensitive skin as it increases circulation - so use citrus with caution on your face)

Floral water misters are safe for skin, freshing your room, linens, laundry, ironing, etc.

Essential oils:

You will need a substance to help emulsify the oils in water. You can either use vodka, alcohol or a fragrance base designed for this purpose.

We use about 20-30 drops of essential oils

1 Tablespoon (splash) of vodka.

8 oz distilled water.

Again, just top off the bottles. These make great room sprays and if you use essential oils like the anti-cootie combination you can use them as counter top cleaners. We suggest a bigger sprayer if you want to make cleaning products in this manner.
